I would like to see a discussion on the role faculty play in fostering a sense of community at UC Davis. Does the external pressure to publish prohibit faculty from participating in student life as they once might have? Is there still room for “in loco parentis” in modern academia?

I wonder how widespread cheating is, and if students have integrity and a sense of honor as Aggies. Has the Honor Code died? Are exams proctored now? Do Aggies still ‘do the right thing’?

I would like to post the results of a campus centennial haiku project titled “Hundred Haiku” as a “CalAggie9 Oct’O8 - Hundred Haiku” topic.
